Brian got a call from his oncologist yesterday with news about the pathology of the lymph nodes. Apparently they are primarily b-cell lymphoma with a few t-cells mixed in for good measure. The Doc says we got lucky as b cells are much easier to deal with and the few t cells should not cause a problem. So, surgery scheduled on Monday to implant a device in his shoulder in which they will administer the chemo which will consist of five intravenous drugs and one orally. We're looking at 9 -12 treatments, one every 3 weeks, each taking 3-4 hours. While we're happy to have a diagnosis and a treatment plan we know this is a long road to hoe. He wanted me to let you know that the times he's been able to be at the gym how much you guys inspire him. When we finally kick this thing Brian has issued a Murph date (not a challenge). The date will to be announced and he wanted me to tell you that he's not expecting much and may be there for a few days trying to get it done. Thanks for your love, prayers, good thoughts and well wishes during this time.
Live life to the fullest, don't sweat the small stuff (no matter how big it seems), love, laugh, cherish every moment with those who mean the most to you...and GO BEAR FOOT!
